Gwendolen Cates is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer based in NYC.
Her work has screened on PBS, at festivals, colleges and universities, museums, and the UN. Her award-winning documentaries include Water Flowing Together, which chronicles the life of Navajo/Puerto Rican New York City Ballet principal ballet dancer Jock Soto (Independent Lens 2008); The Good Mind (2016) about Onondaga leaders fighting for return of stolen lands; and We Are Unarmed (2020) a fresh look at the Standing Rock resistance to the DAPL pipeline.
Cates is the daughter of a linguist fluent in Diné Bizaad, the Navajo language, who first brought her to Indian Country as a child. She studied cultural anthropology at the University of Chicago.

Pura Fé (Tuscarora/Taino) is an Indigenous activist, singer-songwriter, and storyteller who has toured with the Silk Road Project and founded the world-renowned Native women’s a cappella singing group Ulali.

Robert J. Miller (Eastern Shawnee) is the Jonathan and Wendy Rose Professor of Law at Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, and an internationally renowned scholar of Indian Law and the Doctrine of Discovery.

N. Bruce Duthu (Houma) is the Samson Occom Professor and chair of the department of Native American & Indigenous Studies at Dartmouth College. He co-produced the documentary feature film Dawnland (2018) and received an Emmy for Outstanding Research.
